Probook 430 G2 always goes to Hardware Diagnostics on boot?

Pretty much what the title says. It goes to the Hardware Diagnostics screen within a couple seconds of turning the power on when I try to boot from USB, boot from SSD, update BIOS from USB (1.6.1 to 1.44), or pretty much anything else. I can get the network boot screen to come on but that doesn't help much since I don't have a network boot setup for it.

Oh, I can also get to a black screen with a flashing Caps Lock LED by holding Win-B during power on, but it never seems to go anywhere. Fan kicks on high speed after 10s or so, then it just sits until i power off. Waited 10 mins the first time, nothing.

Esc, F2, F8, F10, F12, Del, Win-B... my only choices appear to be diagnostics, network boot, or flashing caps lock.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the boot drive may be hosed? Or other hardware problems, somehow related to booting?

Boot drive is a new 850 Evo, works fine in other machines.

I'm not sure what the other hardware problem would be... seems like if the mobo was hosed it wouldn't get that far. I have no better ideas though.
