I've had my Xbox for about a year now and have not had many problems with it reading game discs. Tonight however, I went to play a game and it says cannot recognize disc. It is a licensed Xbox game and there are no scrathces on it. I even tried playing other games/DVD's on the console and I get the same message. What else could the problem be? I even used a CD-Rom drive lens cleaner (the cd version, no liquids). Should I dissemble my Xbox and look into it? How do I go about doing that? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

that happened to me once, but after i turned off the xbox, next hour was working perfectly.

the disc i used however did have a decent scratch through it, but that was about all... i've heard of that problem coming up every once in a while, so i know it's common

I would blow into the drive, try again. Pull out the power on the Xbox. If not, call MSFT.

Geez, that forum is scary. Class action lawsuit though? lol, yeah right. You know how LOOOOONG Microsoft will keep whatever they have against them in court, meaning you're going to need lots of $$$ and time. Eventually, you'll run out and Microsoft gets off w/ a slap on the hand.
