Problems with Vortex 2 simply.....stopping?

The first few minutes after windows boots, it has sound, then, it just stops.

Using driver that XP installs automatically.

It's a diamond vortex 2.

btw aureal was the best sound card company imo. its products, at the time, were supperior to creative. cant beat HL in A3D on a Aureal card. the are like the 3dfx of the sound market to me
