Problems with Viewsonic VX2025

Yesterday i installed a WD SATA II HD, turned on my computer, and somehow lost any singal i had to my VX2025. This has happened before, and i ended up using another monitor to go into safe mode and uninstall any display drivers i had, and went ahead and installed the extreme-G drivers. It worked the first time, but now im still getting nothing.

For some odd reason my other Samsung monitor willl display just fine. The only way i can get anything from my vx2025 is by first booting the computer up with the Samsung, then switching DVI cables to the viewsonic once it gets to windows.

Ive tried everything i can think of, and its getting pretty frustrating spending so much time on what seeems like an eay fix.

Anyways, if anyone could provide some advice as to solving this, it would be much appreciated.

Try using the analog input with the VX2025. If it works you have the common DVI problem that can be fixed.
It's called DVI Recover??? (i think thats what it's called)

Here's the H forums thread:

Now if thats not the problem then there might be something else wrong with it. Did you do Windows Update and install the VX2025 drivers from the driver update tab? (thats how I always install my VX2025 since i can't seem to find drivers on Viewsonics website and I don't sonsider Display Adapter drivers a priority.

Third it's XTreme-G, not whatever you called it. XTREME-G Got it?? 😛
And fourth, you should be using these driveres:

Which I assume your using.
Have fun 🙂

Damn, that's good info. I had a similar problem with my VX2025 and it took several hours of searching to find all this info that is now in one post.

Most definitely. Thank you so much for the help. I tried the VGA cable, and it worked. Unfrotuately, anything i try to download seems to corrupt, so i need to find another computer to download the DVI recovery and burn the image.

Besides that, thank you!

ok i just had this happen to me , and all i did was plug both plugs in, turn off the computer, and then unplugged the monitor for like 10 seconds ....... and voila it was back to normal.

This happened to me about 2 weeks ago and i unknowingly unplugged it all and it worked after that...... atleast now i realize thats why it worked.

Stupid problem ........ easy fix not a biggie.

Yea, OP, before you try using the DVD Recover thing try this too.
It's a lot easier 🙂 (note the word A LOT)

Bit of a bummer ... I wanted to pick this monitor up in a few months too. Not ruling it out now, just added this thread to my faves !

These problems seem to be few and far between so just cross your fingers 😀

AFAIK they are. Not really sure about the facts 😛
