Hey all!!

It´s my first post in this forum, and this already comes with a problem =(...
In the Cybercafe that I work, the owner have just bought 13 Sy-k7v Dragon Plus, with a AtlhonXp 1700+, 256mb DDr, and a Geforce2 Ti 64mb for the brand new computers...
As we test de Pcs we realize some problems. Let me tell you:
In Direct3d aplicattions the performace drops a lot, and there are several problems like freezing, image errors, bugs and etc. I´m discarding a problem with the video cards because we already tested with the Geforce2MX 400, and the Riva Tnt2 32mb, but all with the same problem. When I test the Directx in Control Panel, the performace is too poor. When the box with the Directx logo is moving on the monitor, and when a blank square it´s moving, even a worst PC beat the performace
In OpenGl applications the graphics and stuffs runs fine, except with little image problems.
This problems happens in Win98Se, and Win Me.

When I install the Win2k and the WinXp the Pc works just fine ( outhough, it´s a little bad the performace in D3d, but nothing much). And so the Direct3d applications. However the CyberCafe use the WinMe license, than with have to make this work in Win Me.
Does anyone knows how can I fixe this???

Thanks

PS. I have already updated all drivers ( such as Via4in1, Bios, all kinds of Detonators..)

Hmmm... The fact that it works in 2000 and XP tells me drivers. But if ALL YOU HAVE is ME, VIA 4 in 1 and the Detonator drivers, than you should be fine.

I'm using ME, don't have any problems, but I have all of the critical updates installed and use a Radeon and not an NVidia.

I had a customer call me with the same issue once. He also used ME. had a VIA chipset and a GeForce. He told me that the eventual solution was to NOT install ANY VIA chipset patch. Believe it or not, your choice. But he had the system working so well without the 4 in 1 that he decided to not screw it up.

Follow the same "procedure" and see what happens. Remember that ME, unlike 98, is new enough to have it's own VIA drivers. Albeit they are not "the newest" 4 in 1s, but they work just the same.

Hi!
Thanks for the reply, but I don´t think this should work. Because of the problems I updated the Via 4in1. I was using the native WinMe drivers, and the same problems occurs.

Anyway, thanks for the reply

I'm glad you're problem was solved. For future reference, be careful which PCI slots you fill. In the Dragon+ boards, slots 4 and 5 are safe, slot 3 works for many things, and slots one and two can introduce serious system drains/stability probs. So if you are having mysterious issues, check the PCI slots and make sure #1 and #2 (closest to the AGP slot) are empty.
