Problems with SATA Hardrive

Hi guys, right now I have an MSI K8T Neo board with a promise controller and a VIA controller. I used to have my SATA drive hooked up to a different controller card that was a silicon image card that came with my raptor hardrive. However when I tried to put my hardrive on the VIA controller card, I have been getting blue screens of death every time I go into windows and each time I try to reinstall windows without formating the hardrive it still gives blue screens of death. Is my data now hosed and I have to reformat it on the new card? what should I do? thanks

how would I do that when the device is grafted into the actuall motherboard?

sorry, my bad.
Have you tried to repair the window w/ controller card driver install by pressing "F6"?

what Im doing now is using an old ide hardrive to do a formated install to see if I can see the serial ATA drive, I just want to know if Im waisting my time from someone whose had a simelar experiance

see if you can get into the safe mode remove the silicon image driver, and uninstall 4-in-1 driver. (if you have on)
