problems with Promise FastTrak100

im having trouble booting from my Promise FastTrack100. Im running P2 350 on a soyo SY-6VCA and using 2 Maxtor 20GB 7200rpm ATA/66 HDDs. I changed the boot sequence to boot from SCSI. There are no IRQ conflicts and i removed all HDD's from CMOS. Ive tried the card in all the slots and i still get the same thing. it freezes when it says "verifying DMI pool data". ive got the most recent BIOS updates from Promise and Soyo. any help would be greatly appreciated

If you can, change the boot sequence in your BIOS. I'm assuming it's currently showing something like, A, C, CD-ROM. Change that to A, SCSI, CD-ROM. I had the exact same problem with my fastTrack100(not a very good manual, is it?)

I have read on this board and others that the Maxtor drive do not raid well.

Do a search on raid and maxtor.
