Problems with Outlook

I'm using Outlook for email and calendar, but I've been having a couple of problems with it:

1) I can't manage to get Outlook to keep a copy of sent emails in the Sent folder. I've already checked the option that is supposed to make this work, but it still won't happen. The last (only) email that is in the Sent folder is from about 3 weeks ago - even though I've sent dozens more in since then, none of them show up.

2) Outlook says I'm connected to somewhere, but whenever I try to sync it always gives a Send/Receive error.

You probably have some settings incorrect as to Secure Sign On or the ports or the address needed to connect to your mail server. All of this information should be available from whomever your email is from (comcast / msn / aol / gmail / yahoo / verizon, etc)
And for people to answer more question, we would need to know both that and the Version (2000 / 2003 / 2007 / 2010) of Outlook you have. Settings are in differing spots on each one.

Outlook 2010. Forgot, sorry. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit as well.

The problem with the connection has only started happening recently, it used to work fine. When I repair the account, Outlook even manages to send a test email fine. But when I try syncing, I get an error telling me I'm not connected to the internet.

Seems something was wrong with Outlook closing, and wouldn't close properly unless it was terminated in Task Manager. I just restarted it and everything was fine. Thanks for the help guys
