I have tried to do the office 2000 premium update on two seperate computers from two seperate ISP's today and it fails to recognize the data1.msi on the CD's I place in the cdrom to verify and start the upgrade. It is really ticking me off.

If anyone else out there who hasn't updated their office 2000 premium lately, please try and let me know if you are sucessful.

The first update is 1a. After that is installed, you can update to svc pak 2. My two pc's can't get past that data1.msi folder search, even when the damn folder is right in the root of the CD. Why?😕
 
Before Office 2000 SR-1 came out that was an issue with our installs as well. You're best and only bet is to completely un-install the Office suite, and re-install it from scratch, then patch it using Office SP3 and then the office update site. There is an Office un-installer available from Microsoft. Search for it in their Knowledge Base.
