problems with nfs server

it's me again. anyway, i'm trying to get my nfs server running. i got portmapper and mountd running. but nfsd just doesn't want to run. when i type 'rpc.nfsd' i get:

nfssvc: Function not implemented

what does thatmean, and wtf do i do now?
