Problems with new wireless card

My parents have a wireless network set up at their house and almost everything works fine. Right now they have a laptop hooked up to it and are trying to get their PC working on the wireless network. I installed the card and it connects to the access point but it says "internet cannot be found." I set it to assign the IP address, default gateway, etc. automatically but it doesn't appear to be doing that.

When I run IPConfig, it doesn't give any info on DNS or default gateway.

The IPConfig info is:

Connection-specific DNS suffix:
Physical Address: 00-12-17-64-6D-79
DHCP Enabled: Yes
Autoconfig Enabled: Yes
Autoconfig IP Address: 169.254.xx.xx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway:

I've tried manually setting an IP address for it but then it won't even connect to AP.

Anybody have any ideas on what's wrong?

DHCP isn't set up properly. The "169.154......" is assigned when you aren't given an IP address but have the options set for DHCP. Check your access lists and DHCP options again.
