Problems with new computer

After I put all the parts together, my computer was working, but it didn't find the CD-ROM player and the hd. So I checked all the cables and put the computer back on. At that point it didn't do anything anymore, except many short beeps.

The diagnostic LEDs gave 0100 (when you start counting on the motherboard side) or 0010, and this means according to the manual:
0100: Memory Detection Test/Testing onboard memory size: The memory module may be damaged or not installed properly
0010: Initializing Keyboard Controller: The keyboard may be damaged or not plug-in properly

I tried new memory, but the problem persists.

My hardware:
MSI K7Turbo Limited
AMD Athlon 1Ghz
256mb memory
Philips CD-writer
Noname CD-rom player
Maxtor 40 Gb hd
standard Riva TNT2 32mb AGP-kaart

Could anybody help me?

Now I changed the videocard, and now I see something.

It says:

BIOS rom checksum error

Checking Drive A:
Drive A error. System halt.

And then it starts beeping.

Check for a new bios(no betas) from MSI or whoever makes your bios and install it. I'd say unplug everything execpt your vid card and ram, then add one component at a time and see how far you get. Also check and make sure your cables are attached correctly...Pin 1 for Pin 1, etc. When you installed your cpu did you install the HSF correctly? Good Luck!
