Problems with new build.

I have built a new computer and am having a problem with one of my drives. I have the boot drive installed just fine. When I installed an old drive, with all kinds of stuff I need to install on the new computer, XP says it needs to be formatted. When I install the drive back in my old computer XP reconizes it just fine. This drive is formatted correctly. Any ideas how to get my new computer to work with this drive without deleting anything?

I've had this type of problem when there are two bootable drives hooked to one system.

I stick the offender in a USB case and go from there.
