Both were great. I've sent mine back, so you're one step closer to the head of the line 🙂

Remember "Long Wait" just means "a lot more requests than discs," but meanwhile netflix is sending out the discs to people so you might get your copies mailed tomorrow.

Perhaps they don't anticipate the amount of people requesting those videos? I have End of Surburbia in my list and it's on a short wait and so is the first DVD of Thundercats.

wth? Ive never had problems till recently, but now everything is on wait, its really annoying

anyone else had problems recently?

The trick Ive learned is with new releases put them #1 on your list before they are released, that way you'll be one of the first people to get them... and everyone else who tried to get them a few days after they are released will be stuck waiting.

I added Sin City to the list a few days before it came out and moved it to #1 in my queue. Netflix actually shipped the disc the day before release. My wife got the mail last Tuesday morning and we had the movie before most rentals stores would even be open.

Just look ahead to future releases, and stick then in your queue now.

I did the same thing w/ Sin City 🙂

i had them, but not as #1, i had the simpsons season 6 ahead of it, but now that i didnt get it the first day, i have not been able to get either...annoying

i also have downfall which is a wait, but i can understand that more, its not a popular title so maybe they undersestimated the amount of people looking to rent it

Netflix sucks and is for suckers. Dont suck and join Blockbuster local store monthly program.

COMPARE MY SITUATION TO YOURS:
Kung Fu Hustle (in my hand)
Downfall (viewed)
Sin City (viewed)

I rent out EVERY new release on Tuesday evening. I gave up on Nteflix as they put all of their frequent renters to the bottom of the heap and gave all fresh releases to new/casual customers.

Im waiting to see if blockbuster has a deal for changing subscriptions, for a while they had a deal, but it seems to be dead now

OK, this is freaking ridiculus, I'm to the point where i am about to cancel netflix

3 weeks ago I made this post

Kung Fu Hustle (long wait)
Downfall (short wait)
Sin City (long wait

now I did get downfall, but the other 2 are still short wait for kung fu hustle and long wait for sin city...and not once have i checked it and seen either as available, i have gotten a lot of movies in between but none of my top movies

Sin City has been at the top of my queue for several weeks. Got Kung Fu Hustle after maybe a week, week and a half.

its ridiculus, usually they are good with new releases, but for some reason it seems like they ordered 1 copy of each of these movies...both were in my queue (although not on top) before they were even released

its jst the way it is. keep those u want the most at the top😛 works out in the end. services like it work best with long long queues. easy with hbo tv and such dvds😉

I don't like what I'm reading sinc I just opened an account on Monday.

But most of them are old movies that I never got around to watching, so maybe I'll be ok.

...I hope.

Movies are usually released Tuesday. However, Netflix will sent them out on Monday. I usually time it so that they would receive my returned DVDs on Monday. I'll mail it anytime from Thursday to Saturday. (It takes 2 days for me.) Try it. It will at least improve your chances of getting it. If it doesn't work, you must be really be on the bottom of the food chain.

edit: I would think Netflix gets a lot of returned DVDs on Monday since they don't process mail on the weekends. Therefore, their inventory is probably at the max on Monday. Try to time your returns for Mondays for new releases and hard to get movies.

that seems to work, but if i miss it, it can be up to a month before i get it

I have had these movies listed for about a month and FINALLY got Kung-Fug Hustle sent out, too bad it was when i wanted hitchikers guide or fever pitch, which now are both LONG WAIT since they sent kung fu hustle which i was afraid of ever moving from the top

oh and Sin City is still a long wait

i am going to send the 2 movies i got back and if i donget 1 of the 3 movies i have been waiting for I really think i will switch to blockbuster...at least if they dont send it out i can use a free in store rental to get it

I have emptied my queue except for Sin City, Hitchikers Guide and Fever Pitch...the first is now finally a short wait the other 2 are long waits...if i dont get at least 2 of the three by next wed. I will switch to blockbuster...even if it has a longer turnaround time, i can pick up movies i really want at the store for free

I'm glad that I use BB's service purely just for supplementing my normal viewing habits...classics, foreign films, indie films. Stuff that will never be backed up in the queue 😛

(It also helps that my warehouse is about 1.5 hours away)

U gotta fill your queue.

ive had a full queue for a while and my top 4 movies were "long wait" for over a month even though they are popular new titles...so im trying with nothing in my queue...if that doesnt work, its BB time

netflix isn't for people with short queues.... whole point is a massive selection that no one can beat and that you can build a long queue with. put your most wanted at the top and they will come sooner or later. if you are a nail biter its not for you.
you might as well go to your local video store if its urgent like that.
there are so many dvds out there worth renting now its not much of a problem. filling your queue with all the hot tv shows and tv lineup from hbo is easy as pie... then there are the classics and all the award winners/nominees commonly referenced movies u missed...

I dont usually care, but sometimes I want to see the movie when it comes out on DVD, and I dont mind not getting it that day, but usually within a month I would like to see it.

Im going to switch to blockbuster now and see, I wouldnt mind an extra day turn-around time(especially since netflix has slowed my delievery time) if I can also pick up 2 movies a month at the store that I want to see

Is Blockbuster still as awful as when 7 of 10 movies were "unavailable"? Or have they finally figured out that tricky thing called inventory?

Blockbuster was super slow for me... took a week to get my movies and another week for them to get them from me, 2 week turnaround sometimes.
