Problems with my performance on my 6600GT

When playing Doom3 or running 3DMark03, I get this:

My specs are:
3000+@1.8ghz
512MB of ram
Leadtek 6600GT

Also, I got the HL2 demo and my recommended settings are medium settings for everything, plus 800x600 resolution. Even at those settings though, the game stutters.

And those artifacts I get only in Doom3 and in the 3D mark test that looks like its running on the Doom3 engine. I don't get any artifacts in HL2.

My video card isn't overclocked; everything is running at stock speeds so I dunno what the frickin problem is.

I hope to god its not a defective card. I've had too many problems with this stupid computer as it is, ever since I got it in December. I'm gonna check this "fastwrite" thing in BIOS...
 
Checked BIOS...didn't even find such an option. My drivers are the 67 beta drivers. The ones everyone uses.

Oh, and my GPU temp is 32C
 
Your drivers are "beta" though so I would try the latest official release. Also when removing the driver use Driver Cleaner to completely remove the drivers to reduce the chance of conflicts.
 
But everyone has recommended those beta drivers to get the best performance for HL2. It really surprises me to hear someone get max detail settings@1024x768 for it, when I can't even play the game at 1024x768 with low settings.

The 6600GT has a very delicate HSF POS, so if you nudged it or hit it, even a gentle hit, it might break it's contact with the GPU. Good manufacturers however provide prevention system.

And ****...I dunno what to do now...I need my computer cause I have school, so if I send the damn card back, I'll be computer-less...
