problems with my ati 9000 64MB

i just bought a ati 9000 so i could run dual monitors.

i swapped out my visiontek geforce3 and put in my ati 9000 and loaded the drivers. after i restart the computer, windows xp loads up and i can see the progress bar scrolling and everything. after that's done, the screen just goes black and i can't get to the logon screen. if i reboot the computer, it asks me if i want to boot into safe mode, chose the last known good configuration, etc.

any ideas on why this happens?? is there a program out there to delete all my old geforce 3 drivers??

specs:
1.6a @ 2.24 ghz
asus p4s333 mobo
512 ram
leadtek tv card

Put the GF3 back in, run Detonator destroyer(or other driver eradicator), shut down, install 9000, reboot, install 3.2s, then Controlpanel.

alright. i got rid of the drivers and the same thing happened.

i ended up reformating my HD, but it still didn't work!!!

same thing happens. after i install the drivers and reboot, the computer doesn't get passed the windows xp window.

😕

Which drivers did you install...3.2s? Did you install the SIS AGP driver first? Which 9000 do you have...built-by ATI or powered-by ATI?(if powered-by which brand?). What AGP settings in BIOS? Which BIOS version?(both card and MB) Does it boot to desktop with just the videocard installed?

How long did you let it stay at the black screen before restarting??
Try lowering your FSB back to defualt on your overclocking system

i've used the most current drivers and it still didn't work. it's no big deal. i'm just gonna return this card because i picked up a geforce 4 anyway. i let it sit on the black screen for about a couple of minutes. it shouldn't be hanging like that anyway.

thanks for the advice anyway.

now i'm having problems with my geforce4 card. 🙁 my mobo SUCKS! and i know it's the mobo because i stuck the geforce 4 card in two other machines and it worked.
