Problems with keyboard detection at startup?

Hey folks, I was recently forced to change mobo's from a P5B Deluxe to a simple Gigabyte G41M-Combo. Now with this new mobo I'm having issues with keyboard detection during startup, during POST it sees the keyboard since I'm able to enter and navigate the BIOS/Boot menu just fine. The problem is after POST, for example when prompted to select how to boot windows (normally, safe mode, etc) the keyboard wont respond and even worse I cant seem to boot from a disc since it shows the "press any key to boot from cd/dvd" and nothing I press does anything and then it boots straight to windows.

I don't even know how I managed to get it to boot a disc the last time when I installed windows on this pc... I know the disc is fine since if I disconnect all my hard drives it will boot straight to the disc. Also if it matters my DVD drive is SATA not PATA.
