Problems with hardware

AMD64 3200+
Asus Geforce 6600 GT PCI-e
Kingston 1 GB pc3200 (2 pcs.)
Echostar 580 w PSU
20->24 pin cable

Im using my old Asus a8n sli deluxe MB, but when I boot up nothing happens.
The fans turn on the different places but nothing shows up on display (my monitor works fine). I connected all power cables correctly to the board, when I turn it up without CPU in it I get the POST message from my speaker "No CPU installed"

Can anyone help?

my best guess is the power supply is unsufficient to power the motherboard/processor/videocard. try with just the processor and motherboard and see if this makes a difference. or your CPU is a hunk of metal.

Hmm, but how am I suppose to see if anything happens without the videocard then?

the PSU is able to give 12v at 18 amp according to the label, you still think it could be that?

That PSU is cheap as crap. 18a on the rail isnt a lot.

BIOS beep codes. if you get a beep code the processor is probably good. if not you have a hunk of metal. without the video card the power supply might be able to power the motherboard and processor. all 3 use the 12 volt rail and the power supply probably isn't able to power everything. try an old PCI video card if you have one. 18 Amps is low, probably only sufficient for integrated video. might try disconnecting all drives from power supply too.

the PSU is 12v 19 amp, I mistyped before.. according to the manual for the MB the supply should be more than enough even for 2x 6600GT cards and an AMD64 3400+ CPU.

Now I tried to turn it up without videocard in it anyway.. Nothing happens, im thinking the MB is dead.

19A im pretty sure is not enough to properly power that system. I would buy a quality powersupply and try that.

Then the manual would be lying.. Anyway im trying the hardware with another motherboard tomorrow and gonna see what happens

Well they said that it will power on which it does. If you do a search you will see people have this problem day in and day out and its always because they are using some cheap powersupply. Just for comparison an Antec Truepower 330watt has 22A output.

generally cheaper power supplies will exagerate current and power output.
