Hi, i have a GIGABYTE GA-6BXE motherboard. In the ide connecto i have a HP 12XCD RW and a HP CDROM. The writer it´s configured as slave and the reader it´s configured as a master. In my house sometimes i have "electrics downs" and when i power on the computer my motherboard don´t detect the CDRW and the CDR. I probe to change the master to slave and i probe to plug only the CDR, too. But my motherboard don´t detect the unit´s.

I need help.

Sorry for my english. ;-)

You need to set the drives up in the BIOS.

If they are set on AUTO, reconfigure them to CDROM or ATAPI CDROM (depending on Bios version)

Then the OS will not have any problem identifying them.

Also, you should put each drive on a different channel to get the Best from the drive.

Not necessarly true. If you slave the CD to the HD you will suffer some speed reduction when loading programs from the CD. If you slave the burner to he HD bad news when burning from the hard drive. It depends what you do the most of. If you burn from the HD you do not want it slaved to the HD i
One way does not fit all.

I have never heard this term before what does it mean?
