problems with getting xp pro/fedora 7 installed

i guess the guy who sold me this drive didnt wipe it clean or something.

it seems to have caldera dr-dos on it, and i cant figure out how to work this thing to load the winxp cd so i can install my linux and winxp pro.


if anyone can help me out please post or pm me as this is giving me mucho troubles


its stuck in a loop it seems. ive tried using the following commands

del C: and it wont delete anything.

exit just does nothing..
D:\setup.exe shows as cannot boot when in DOS Mode
loader does not work
nwcdex doesnt work.

there were a few other but i cant remember them as im ready to just start putting 100's of bullets into the whole setup..


heres my configuration:

AMD Opteron 144
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
xfx 6600gt
corsair xms pro ram (1gb kit)
80gb seagate sata150 hdd
sony cd-rw/dvd-rom combo
thermalright xp-120 hsf

I think that your CD is not bootable then, that's why the BIOS went to the hard drive. Try unplugging the hard drive from the motherboard and see if you can boot from the CD.

ok well problem is it isnt on my hdd come to find out. these disk's seem to have caldera on them (i guess its from nero)

anyone suggest a better iso burning program?

ok it seems when burning a .iso file with nero nero puts caldera dos on it. idk how to explain any better than that really..

i cant find a .iso burning program that will let be burn over 300mb -_- so any help is mucho thanks
