problems with fresh custom

ok i just finished building a new pc the specs are as follows
3.0 800fsb
9600xt vc
1 gb geil ram
gigabyte mb 848p
and raidmax case
sata 160gb

my problem is that when i try to turn it on it turns on for 5 seconds and then turns off
the vry first time i turned it on it stayed on with everything powered up for maybe 10 secs than it turned off and after that it wont stay on for more than 5 secs so please help me
 
First, check the heatsink....then check again...make sure it isnt on backwards. Next, make sure you have the cpu fan plugged in and that its spinning. If all thats ok, remove any non-essential component and try again. If it still fails, make sure sure its mb isnt shorting.
