Problems with DTT3500

OK anyone got any idea what in the world is going on here? I have a set of Cambridge/Creative Labs Dtt3500's and I can not get any sound out of them. I know they work since I can get them to work on a stand alone DVD player. Plus I ran the sound test and they passed.

On the PC I get nothing. I have Win98, PIII 933, Creative PCI SB. I can get sound with my headpnoes plugged in and also with my old generic speakers. I have the control unit for the speakers connect cound card with a std headphone jack, leading to an RCA, into the 3500.

Any help is most appreciated.
