problems with desktop Wireless card

I'm working on changing over my wireless here from a B network to G and the newly bought card installed in my desktop is not seeing the new router. It will see, and link up with, my old B netgear router but it's not wanting to talk to the newer one. I have two laptops and they both can see both routers anywhere in the house, including right next to my desktop so I'm pretty sure it's not a metal obstruction. anyone know why this would be happening? BTW I've tried applying and removing WEP settings on the new router and that seems to have no effect....
