When playing the .avi videos made by the D90 in Windows Media Player (XP SP3, latest version) the video is jerky to the point of being unusable. The sound is fine, just the video sucks.

If I play the videos in Quick Time, all is well.

I went codec hunting but Nikon doesn't seem to require anything special. Any ideas on what to try?

System:
Windows XP SP3
Pentium 4, 3.4Ghz
2 Gigs RAM
Nvidia 6800, 256 megs, latest drivers
DirectX 9.0C
Windows Media Player 11.0.5xxx....

Do you have anything like ffdshow or reclock installed on your computer?

Yes, ffdshow came with the K-Lite Codec Pack. No reclock though.

I used to have choppy video on D90 playback. I had to fiddle with reclock settings. It was kind of a pain. You could just try disabling ffdshow.
