Problems with CDROM drive

Hi
When i try to copy files from a cd in cdrom drive , i get the message "Invalid MS-DOS Function". But i am able to copy from the same cd when it is in my cdrw drive. can someone help me out?

the OS is Windows XP. its a samsung 52X cdrom drive and a liteon 16102B drive. the cd was burnt using nero 5.5.6.4.
