RE: DESK in sig below, and a Canon MF6550 laser printer/scanner via USB.
Yesterday the scanner worked, today...
'Cannot open the scanner. The scanner is not active or in use by another application.'
Actually, I have two Canon printers tied in, the other via wifi... and it does not have this issue. I've uninstalled everything (2 drivers, toolbox) and reinstalled... nothing.
I've reset the printer... nothing.
Searching on the internet gets me the phone book of problems, none really describe my problem. As I say, this printer/scanner has worked for the last 5 years... and now all of a sudden... not.
I did re-install my GTX760 and drivers yesterday... but it was in this PC previously and wasn't a problem (along with the GTX560Ti before) so I don't really see an issue there...
Ideas, anyone?
EDIT: Here's something odd... when I used to bring it out of sleep mode, it would be in 'print' mode. Now when I bring it out of sleep, it's already in 'scan' mode. That's different. NM, that was a change in settings... fixed.
EDIT: About 5 emails deep into Canon tech support, so far no go at this station.
EDIT: Continuing on with live support... it's my system, not the Canon. Put it on the HTPC and it worked.
If anyone has had a problem like this, I'd love to hear some suggestions before I have to do a full reinstall...
