I have a comp directly connected to the cable modem. comp specs are
P4 2.6
512 geil ram
P4P800 deluxe
western digital 80gb HD
Win XP Pro
the modem is a motorola surfboard
OK the problem I have is that whenever I play an online game or I download a large file, my connection seems to go dead, then the status lights on my modem flicker off and slowly come back on. Then after they are all back on (about a minute) I can continue what I was doing, but it'll just happen again. Sometimes I can play a game for 20-30 mintues b4 it happens, other times it happens within minutes of connecting.
Well I have an idea what the problem is. I had my comp for about 8 months and for first 7 months no problems. Then my mobo burned out so I RMA'd and got a new one. Ever since I installed this new one Ive ben having this problem. I had the exact same mobo as I do now so I don't know what the problem is exactly. I downloaded all the newest drivers, but that didn't seem to help. I also emailed comcast and they just basically said it was my problem and that the connection was fine. any ideas?
