(tried this in Genral Hardware ang didn't get one nibble)
Just when I thought it was safe to go in the water....
Anyway..I did a clean install for him a few months ago in french . I used my old keyboard and my monitor rather than having him lug the whole kit to my place. After much dicking around with all the problems involved when you dont have any driver's discs I thought everything was hunky dorry but it appears there is a slight niggly problem with his keyboard, Some of the letters are reversed but not all. The W in fact types Z and the A is actually a Q . I won't list them all but you get my drift. I thought it was the language support features but all seems welll in that dept. I even had him uninstall the keyboard thinking that my english one had buggered up the installation and once windows recognized his french keyboard all would be well. No such luck. I can't think of anything that could cause this anomoly. He's running win98se in french with a french keyboard and I installed two language support (English US and French Canada) Even if he switches to english the keyboard is still fubared..
Any suggestions besides buying a new PC. (He is financially challeged with extreme prejudice)
