problems with ati ccc

I want to hook my 9800pro to my hdtv and I downloaded the latest drivers, etc. In the display
options tab (where alot of the fun hdtv settings are) the text is "cut off" or not shown and there's not a scroll bar to see them with either. I've done the whole uninstall the drivers (driver cleaner pro), etc and it's still the same. If my card didn't support this stuff I can see the options being grayed out but not partially shown. I've tried changing resolutions (up and down) and I've looked for a way to resize the window so I can see them but no joy. Anyone have any ideas? I could use powerstrip but it's not the most intuitive program and i'm looking for braindead easy now that my son is born. Screenshots below.

right click desktop
select properties
Go to appearance tab
font size: select normal.
reboot check CCC again

I think that should do it.
 
that did work but windows locked up when i rebooted with the font change. I think my windows install is getting a little flaky and needs redone. thx for the help.
