Well i bought some more memory and tried to fill the third dimm slot (closest to the processor) and when my computer boots it does the beeps.....what could it be and how do i fix it? PM me with answers aswell....
Reseat the ram and then try to boot. If still no go, take out the two good sticks and try the new stick in DIMM 1 and try to boot-if it gives error or beep codes, write them down or count them and post back.
From what I remember the Award BIOS on the KT7A has a number of beep codes:
No beeps - motherboard is dead
One beep - board is working fine
One long beep then system shuts down - faulty CPU
Beeeep-beep-beep - no video card
Beeps repeated over and over - memory problem
Rapid stream of beeps - key is stuck on keyboard
If you are getting repeated beeps which I assume that you are then follow the advise of DieHardware. In the end It could be that the new stick of RAM is DOA and needs to be returned.
