problems using both tv and monitor at the same time

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro vid card, and set up the TV on s-video out . The issue with it is, the TV's max resolution is 800x600, and I have my monitor set to 1280x1024. This makes the desktop "pan" on the tv. I'd just like to scale the desktop down on the television so that all of it is displayed at once.

i can set the monitor to 800x600 and in doing so all looks perfect on both tv and monitor but i was hoping to set it up so that my monitor can be set to its defalut 1280x1024 and the tv at 800x600.

Is it possible to set two different resolutions at the same time? one for the tv and one for the monitor.

I'm running Windows XP Pro & the latest version of the Catalyst drivers.

thank you for any help.

This works absolutely fine on the 9600 in my HTPC. You can set the resolutions independently through the "Settings" tab of Control Panels/Display, or by drilling down into the ATI panels (under "Advanced..." on that same tab) and going to the "Monitors" tab.
