Problems sending email and opening attachments in Outllook Express

Hello,
I have SBCGlobal as a internet provider. I currently have my main email account directed to MS Outlook Express and I can't seem to send email. My SMTP is set up correctly.

When I attempt to send email, Outlook freezes up and my email is dumped into the outbox. Keep in mind, Outlook Express has worked in the past. This issue just recently occured.

Also, file attachments will not open. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can anyone help me out? I still have not resolved this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is your email not sending at all or just not right away?

In IE, Tools--> Options--> Send tab, is the "Send messages immediately" box checked?

Tools--> Options--> Security tab, is the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" box checked?

Thanks for the response Spacehead. However, I'm still having problems sending email thur outlook express. I followed your example and the "Send messages immediately" box was checked. I also discovered when I compose an email, and then try to send it, a dial up connector dialog box comes up everytime. Is there some way to disable this dial up connector? Do you think this is the source of the problem? Thanks again!

BTW, attachments are now working. 🙂

This dial up connector dialog box comes up even if you're already connected to the internet?
When that dialog box comes up, will email be sent if you click on the connect button?

I wonder if OE thinks it's working offline & then want to connect to send the email. If that's the case i'm not sure how to go about fixing it.
