This is really pissing me off!! I downloaded Need For Speed: High Stakes back in the day when it was new and had absolutely no problems. Now, two years later, I felt like playing again so I actually bought it from a friend and the damn thing has major issues running. It worked for a couple of days but now, every time I try to run it, the screen flickers on and off a couple of times and I get an error message. It reads:
Abort Message: Exception caught! EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION: read attempted @0xFFFFFFFF and then a whole bunch of hexidecimal numbers and letters...
It seems to be a hardware problem but I'm running a TNT2 V770 which is pretty standard. I ran the warez version 2 years ago on the same setup with no problems. The only difference is that now, I have the Detonator 3 drivers for all of NVidia's cards. So anyway, What the hell does that message mean? Why did it just suddenly start? Any suggestions?
