Hi,
I recently upgraded my EVGA 6800GT video card with a EVGA 7800GTX-ACS with the idea that I will keep the 6800GT to handle two extra monitors. I have an ASUS A8N SLI Delux mobo, and was able to get the two video cards to work fine either in single or dual mode (16x/1x or 8x/8x) everything seams to be working well, but when I run MS Flight Simulator 2004 in full mode using multi-monitor support, if I make an attempt to move back to windowed mode, the computer goes blue screen. This happens in either single or dual mode.
Does anyone have an idea if this is related some incompatibility between these two cards? I notice the BIOS version is different in the video cards, but was unable to find updated versions for the 6800GT. I also wonder if it may be related to insufficient power, I have a 550W Thermaltake PSU, but it is feeding lots of components including an X2 4800+, two WD Raptor 74G, two WD Caviar 250G, two optical drives, in addition to the two video cards, plus several fans and external peripherals connected to USB ports.
Thanks,
Carlos
