I recently did a clean install of Win2K SP3 on my laptop and used Norton Ghost 2002 to make a bootable image of it should I need go back. Well, sure enough I did and when I tried to restore the image, the CDRW/DVD isn't recognized to locate the .gho image (the same CDRW/DVD I just booted from). I tried booting from the original floppy; same result. I tried adding the OakCDrom.sys file to the original floppy to make sure it was booting with CD drivers, but still no go. Anybody out there got a fix for this problem? I really don't want to have to spend another 6-8 hours reinstalling, updating, and tweaking Win2K. Many thanks.

Check out different drive letters. I have a bootable CD I use on my laptop and desktop in order to run a backup/restore program, and it requires I change CDs at the command prompt. It is A:> at that time. If I dor a DIR/W for A:>, it comes up with nothing. Then if I change to C:> - voila! There is the CD! And away we go. Funny things happen when you boot with a CD. :)
