problems on a gigabyte ga-7dxr+ board

Well.. when i first booted it a few times.. i got the first bios screen.. then it froze.. now.. i dont get any video at all on bootup. what the heck! i cant find a guide to the dip switches anywhere

sounds like the power supply is faulty or perhaps the heatsink isn't on properly

hmm.. i guess i could try another psu. how would it be the cpu tho? i put a new stick of ram into the board.. and it tests memory now.. and freezes after that. i suppose i could wipe off the hsf and reattach it.. after checkin for damage to the cpu

Have you reset the CMOS.

Just start off with the basics, no nic, sound, hard drives, cdrom/burner/dvd, etc

yeah.. tried with no basics.. same thing... also.. there doesnt seem to be a jumper to reset the cmos on this board so i've taken and replaced the battery.. to no effect.. that was the first thing i tried...

ok.. now im gettin weird freezing in the os.. this is really weird.. win2k seems to work.. untill i go to update it or something else and it just freezes.. AHHH, what is causing this!
