Problems logging into bank acct.

Posting this for my father...... He's about ready to pull his hair out because he cannot log into his REGIONS bank acct..

It all started a few days ago when he suddenly could'nt log in. Types in his PW and the "Internet Explorer cannot open webpage" comes up. No other problems on the internet. All other web pages load fine.

He's been on the phone with both his ISP and Regions for hours and hours trying to figure it out and this is the 3rd day.

He's using XP and AVG free antivirus. He has Ad-Aware Plus w/Adwatch.

I have a good feeling it's just a security setting if everything else works on the internet. Does anyone have a clue on what to check? Or uncheck in this case

I would try connecting in a different browser (FF,Opera...). Also, try clearing the cache/cookies/authenticated sessions in IE. That should narrow it down.

I finally talked my father into getting Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, replacing the Free AVG that everyone raves about.

It found a nasty file. He just sent me an email saying that Kaspersky couldn't delete the file, but it did quarantine it. I'd like to know the name of that bad file! I'll post here when I find out.

All is well now and he can log on to his Regions Bank acct. online 😉
Kaspersky kicks ass!
