Trying to install the following HD into the following mobo.

HD 200GB| SEAGATE 7200
ASUS A8V DELUXE K8T800PRO

I got the SATA drivers from the Asus website. I used the makedisk.exe provided by them. When Windows starts installing I hit f6 and then wait for them to allow me to hit s to install drivers. However, when the disk is read I get the error:

Line 1 of the INF file /txtsetup.oem is invalid

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

Am I missing something obvious here? Or does anyone have a better solution to my problem. Also, the HD is plugged into the SATA 1 port on the mobo and shows up when I look at the bios.

Thanks. :D

Just booting from the hard drive definitely doesn't work. Just has blinking underscore at top left of screen and sits there.

thats because no HD was found,in your bios the sata drive has to show up as the primary drive, you will have to make changes in the IDE config [a reboot is ness,] to have the drive show up as primary, and select that drive as the BOOT from device, should find some info in the manual that came with the mobo.
