Problems installing XP2400+

I'm trying to install an xp2400+ on an ecs k7s5a and it seems like the cpu doesn't sit properly with the socket. With the lever up, the cpu rocks like a see-saw. With the lever down, I can still see a little bit of the pins underneath. Is that a problem?

Yes, but like i said, with the lever down, some of the pins are showing. Shouldn't the cpu be totally flat without any pins showing when the lever is down?

This is dumb because I am dumb but - sure it's in the right direction? We have one at my home (k7s5a) and fits just fine. Easy to get those processors turned around.

Yup, everything is right. Maybe something is lop-sided... like the mobo socket or something.

It is more likely that you bent one or more of the pins.

It really doesn't look like I have a bent pin. I think the socket on the mobo is defective. What do you expect from ECS. Going to probably exchange it for another one at Fry's in Renton.
