ARGH!!!!

XP was starting to destabilise and I was receiving my HD4870 today, perfect time to stake advantage of an OS wipe and install Vista 64.

My SATA DVD Drive didnt like my Vista 64 disk the first two attempts so I popped in my XP disk and formatted via XP. Tried my Vista disk again and voila, workie!! so clicked the format button, very quick format with no bar guide popup and partitioned fine (one 400Gb partition).

Goes to "Next" and I get "Windows cannot determine whether this computer has a valid partition" and stops me dead.

ARGH!!

I have now made a 60gig and a 340 gig partition, installing XP on the 60 gig part and leaving the 340 gig part unformatted for the moment. I really want to get Vista 64 installed and set up to start taking advantage of the platforms ever increasing gaming performance.

If anyone could shed any light on this, Id be eternally grateful. Any info you require, just ask.

Check your BIOS on your computer to see if there is any option relating to SATA Disk or SCSI Disk that you can toggle. If so, try to toggle it and then re-attempt the install.
