Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

The rig I'm trying to get going.

550 Watt EPS PSU
Iwill MPX2
2X Barton 2500+ modded for MP
1GB of samsung Reg PC2700
WD 100GB 2MB cache
Samsung 52x CDRW 8MB cache
Gainward Ti4200 64MB

I have left all the other parts of the PC out as I always do during the initial setup.

Here is the scenario:

It boots to the WinXP setup and formats the partition and copies files to it. But when rebooting and attempting to load from setup files on the drive I get an error, saying there is a hardware disk configuration that is wrong and windows can't access the drive. I have gone to one stick of ram. Triple checked all jumpers on all drives. I have run kill disk to eliminate traces of anything on the HDD. I made sure the drive was still good by putting it in my wifes PC and formatting it and transferring data and running chkdsk on it. I have tried different IDE cables. I am running out of troubleshooting steps ????

well, i have seen this a few times with a few diffrent boards. I build computers for a local company here, and everytime this has happend to me i have had to replace the board. sorry man

Yes LED the jumpers are off. And it is the only in the chain. I have also tried all the umper configs like cable select and master in a dual, just in case, thanks for the input though. I did get it to boot into setup off hdd now. Its weird because I never had to do this, but I took generice IDE drivers for the AMD chipset and loaded them in during the setup process and it went right through. Shouldnt generic drivers for the MPX chipset be in WinXP setup? Weird. well in any event it worked and I am on my way now.
