I have been bulking up for 4 months, and now Im trying to cut some of the fat off for the summer. Yesterday was my first day dieting. One of the senior accountants swings by my cubicle and says we're all going out to lunch.

Where do we go?......Applebees. Great. So I ordered a blue cheese hamburger thing. Not much to eat there from a healthy perspective.

Why not just get a salad instead? How about a plain chicken sandwich?

There are options everywhere. You didn't have to buy the burger :)

if you can't splurge once in a while, there is no point dieting because your diet will fail. Anway just start your diet again tomorrow.

haha.. and parents tried to teach their children to say no to peer pressure, yet we as grown adults can't do it ourselves..

anyways, don't sweat it, just start tomorrow instead. Good luck

I've had similar problems in the past eating with coworkers because of the whole vegetarian thing, but in general, there's always something you can find. Soups, salads, grilled chicken ... perhaps get the side of steamed vegetables instead of fries. Or just have water instead of a soda. You just have to become accustomed to looking for the best options possible.

Yeah next thing you know he'll be smoking crack with the asian clients in strip clubs... that was sarcasm

Dude there is plenty to eat at places like that. You can get the lime (or is it lemon?) chicken and other things like that. Always get water and never get fried things. How hard is that?

Its not what you eat, it is how much of it you eat. You can eat healthy at the worst restaurant in the world if you just eat a very small amount. Some fat/salt/calories is good in virtually all diets. Moderation is all it takes.

I looked at everything on the menu. They do have a little healthy section, but I doubt there's much of a difference between a chicken quesadilla sandwich and a burger.

you are correct. there is not much difference between a quesadilla and a burger. both high in fat and calories. did you look at THESE?

You could always bring your lunch to the restaurant. Waitress might give you a dirty look, and you might return the favor.
