Problems Deleting a File?

I downloaded the Battlefield 2142 demo yesterday and now the .exe file on my desktop is undeletable? I keep getting the warning that it is in use by another program? How can I get rid of the file?

And, you can go in to MSCONFIG and the START MENU and see if any thing related to it is checked or present as a "startup" function. You might also be able to delete the file in Safe Mode.
