problems backing up dvds

So im trying to back up my dvd collection so i can have copies and i dont have to loan out my orginals to bad people. But here lies my problem. i have like 15 dvds thats no matter how many times they reburn them, they refuse to play on my computer. ( i use my pc as a tv sometimes ) they play on my dvd player hooked up to the normal house tv but not my dvd player in the pc.

Any 1 knows hwy this mite be, do i have to maby buy a better dvd burner / player ?
maby its a codec problem ?
 
+ see funny thins is i got ****** load of dvds and 80% of them work its just these few refuse to play on my dvd player in pc and while it isnt hge its bugging me as to why
