problems after some changes in the BIOS

so, i did a few changes in the bios nothing extraordinary, like change 13.5x to 14x then i reboot and when i get the bios splash before i can do anything, i get a black screen with WAIT... in the middle of it, so i waited for a while but WAIT... stays there. mobo is MM3A78. Any ideas what it might be?

That's called overclocking and you've probably asked the CPU and/or memory to run at speeds they are not capable of.

no really ?
seriously, my question was more how long do i have to wait?
or did i get this black screen cos the CPU got too hot and couldn't boot?

anyway thx for replying Bill.

I had this problem occur years ago when I was trying to see how far I could overclock my 2500+ barton before it would tell me to kiss off. Billb2 is correct in saying that is probably because your cpu/memory is not capable of running at this setting.

This is the answer, and now your going to freeze endlessly while it asks you to wait. Go back into bios and change it back.

when i get the black screen i CANT get in the bios, otherwise i would not bother anyone here with that.
What i did was shut off the pc for 10 minutes and when i booted it back i was able to get in the bios and change the settings.

You could of just used the CMOS jumper on the mobo (or the switch on back if there is one.). It would of reset the BIOS. Of course, you do that while powered off and unplugged. I also usually push the power button on the case a few times to discharge the capacitors too.
