Problems after installing new mobo

So I upgraded my AthlonXP 1900+ to a new Athlon64 3000+ with asus A8N-E. Everything has gone pretty smooth as whole, I am just having 3 problems:

1) When booting, I get stuck at the "windows is starting up" screen for about 1-2 mins
2) I have an "unkown device" in device manager
3) Windows can't find the driver for the "Microsoft System Management BIOS Driver"

I have installed nforce4 7.12, I have the latest gfx drivers as well. I have disabled on board audio as well as SATA. I still can't get those two to go away and I can't get the "windows is starting up" screen to go away either. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

System specs:
Athlon64 3000+ (venice)
Asus A8N-E
Gigabyte 6600 GT (also new)

Thnx.

After googling I found this link which seems to relate the slow booting with the Windows System Management BIOS Driver, and seems to be caused by changing mobos. Any suggestions on how to fix this besides just removing it as the website states?

Yeah I upgraded without reinstalling windows. I had to "repair my windows installation" to get the computer to reconfigure itself for my new hardware. It looks like that has regressed me back to WinXP SP1 so I think things aren't working right because the USB 2.0 controller needs WinXP SP2 to work. I'm working on that right now...i'll post updates as they happen.

Installed SP2 and everything is fine. I am getting some crashes in svchost.exe but I think the post-sp2 service packs will fix those. Computer boots super fast now. 😉
