Problems adding email to Outlook

Hopefully someone here will be willing to help me. I added an email to my Outlook.com account via POP and it worked fine for a few months but recently I started getting messages saying that Outlook was no longer able to receive email from the POP account.

To fix it, I ended up adding the email as a IMAP that is send only and had the email redirected from my previous email to Outlook. This looked like it was going to work well until I discovered that I'd lose all email redirected to me that came from a Yahoo or AOL account due to recent changes in their DMARC policies.

My question basically is what can I do? Outlook.com has an Import Email account that moved all of my old email over but does not update. I have Office 2013. I have added my other email to it and has worked fine. Is there a way to sync it to Outlook.com and receive my emails from my other account that way? Would my computer with Outlook 2013 need to be open and running all of the time for it to sync with my Outlook.com account? Thanks for any help. If this is not the best place to ask please point me to some where that would be better. Thanks

I don't see that you're using Outlook Connector... how come? I thought that's the only way to use Hotmail/Outlook.com with the Office's Outlook.

I have never really used Office's Outlook much from home and was looking into it now since I'm having problems with Outlook.com getting POP email or receiving redirected email from yahoo and AOL. I tried to set it up but did not get the POP email that I set up in Outlook 2013 to sync to Outlook.com. I'll look for more info on Outlook Connector and see if that takes care of things for me.
The reason I need to do this is that I need to access my personal email from several different locations during the day. I could use my cellphone but I'd much rather be able to reply with a keyboard. Thanks
