problem: won't post anymore, [I thought I was a computer expert until I saw this]

won't post anymore, here's what I've tried:
tried swapping & replacing & testing:
-videocard
-motherboard
-PSU
-ram
-CPU
-Heatsink

other things tried:
-removed all drives/floppies
-removed all PCI cards
-removed Videocard
-removed ram
-taken apart entire computer and putting it back together

basically, played with every single part of the computer that can be taken apart and put it back together and all didn't work. All the parts work on another computer, so nothing is fried. Already RMA'd the old motherboard so this is a new one and still same effect. all fans turn on, but won't show anything on screen, won't goto BIOS, won't count ram... only thing that happens is fans start spinning and led lights come on!?!?!?

hey urameatball, maybe it is power supply related? can you try another power supply, or check yours against another machine (which I would not recommend, since it might be bad and destory any device you hook it up to). or can you check the volatages on it when It is on? is this an AT or ATX?

Start with the motherboard out of the case and sitting on a chunk of card board. Clear the CMOS memory. Plug in a PCI video card, some RAM, the CPU and a power supply; no keyboard and no mouse; short the power on pins with a screwdriver and see what it does.

dkozloski's right -- but you've got to be super-duper careful starting-up your mobo out of the case. See if you can't find a sheet of anti-static plastic or foam cushion to put between the mobo and the cardboard or whatever you're using. Try hooking up the case speaker, since the beeps can give important info about what's right or what's missing when the mb starts.

I have almost the same setup as you, and the same thing happened to me. I am just waiting for the motherboard to come back from an RMA that I sent it in for. Hopefully I won't run into the same problem again. What happened to me was that my computer suddenly shut down while playing CS - after that, it wouldn't boot anymore =(

I've already tried with that combination... except I don't have PCI videocard and doesn't work.
I just tested all the PCI/AGP cards on another computer and they all work fine. IDE drives went through the same testing (out of desperation). ram has been swapped/removed/replaced. CPU tested and working fine. tested with 2 GOOD powersupplies and same effect. note that the motherboard is brand new from RMAing the old one.

Turn off everything and wait for an hour or two. Then turn in on without overclocking your CPU.

Exact same thing happened to me while playing Diablo II, and I have posted it in tech support forum (click here to see thread). ONe quick suggestion..did you remember to short the bios to reset it after you removed the cpu and did you make sure you unplugged the PS before shorting the bios. It is recommended to reset bios anytime you remove cpu from socket. Also, check your lithium battery to see if it is damaged/discharged. There has been some decent advice regarding troubleshooting the problem but so far no solutions to the problem for me either...click my rig to see my system specs (very close to yours). I am very discouraged by what I have seen in trying to work on mine so far..and having not had any success like yourself. I am further discouraged that Zincq is having the same problem...could this be a problem surfacing among the AMD systems?? A coworker speculated that it could have even been virus induced failure, but I have my doubts about that. Please pm me or post on my thread if you manage to solve the problem..I will do the same if I figure it out first...Good luck

The last time that happen to me on a ABITKT7 it was a stuffed CPU, but you indicated you already tested that. Also make sure the CPU fan is in fan header 1.
