My WMP won't connect to online stores or the media guide, and won't find album info. It just says "This program cannot display the webpage." I've looked all over for a solution. Things I've tried so far:

1) Tools -> Options -> Player ->Connect to internet
2) Tools -> Options -> Privacy ->Display media information....
3) Tools -> Options -> Privacy ->Update music files....
4) File -> Work Offline -> unchecked
5) Firewall allows WMP (Same problem if firewall is turned off)

I'm using Vista and Kaspersky Internet Security.

I was going to ask about this on Microsoft Support, but it looks like they charge for tech support!! (Since when?) Anyway, if some of you guys have come across this problem, I would appreciate any advice. Alternatively, maybe you could recommend a forum that might deal with this kind of thing more directly.

Thanks.

Ok, so I did a LOT of searching on Google for this one and looks like some people have had a similar problem. I couldn't really get a 100% solution to this problem, but looks like checking and then unchecking that Work Offline box might get it working. You could try it and see if it helps.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. Unfortunately, checking and unchecking 'work offline' did not help.

I found a Microsoft Community forum where I'll re-post this, but it doesn't look like too many people get their questions answered there.
