I have windows 98 and every time i try to run microsoft word i get the message "Microsoft visual Basic. Runtime Error 2147024809 (80070057). Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.". Also the office toolbar on the upper side of the screen does not appear. A similar message appears when i connect to the inetrnet and i try to visit a site. It asks to download "Visual Basic Scripting Support" but when i press "yes" it asks for some files from the windows update cd which i don't have. I have checked the hard disk for viruses, didn't find any, i tried to uninstall and reinstall office 2000 with no result. I also haev symantec winfax installed, i don't know if this is related to the problem. Any suggestions??

You answered your own problem here:

"but when i press "yes" it asks for some files from the windows update cd which i don't have. "

Get the CD and go to Windows Update to install Visual Basic Scripting support again.
